L'éditeur affirme avoir mené des benchmarks sous PC Mark 7, et obtenu un gain d'autonomie de 37 minutes sur le même portable (équipé d'un Core 2 Duo 1,86 GHz sous Windows 7), par rapport au mode Economie d'énergie de Windows, et une consommation de 36 watts contre 51 watts sans TuneUp 2012. La version 2012 de TuneUp Utilities améliore également la fonctionnalité Program Deactivator, introduite avec la version 2011. Celle ci permet pour rappel de réduire l'activité d'applications dont les services tournent en tâche de fond lorsqu'elles ne sont pas utilisées. La nouveauté de la version 2012 réside dans la possibilité d'automatiser la désactivation et la réactivation d'un programme selon l'usage de celui ci.
