1981. Arctic Circle. Dead surface of the ice fields. Drifting station "Pole 21" just left the last occupant - Meteorologist Alexander Nesterov. He received an urgent telegram from the mainland and now must leave the expanse of the Arctic on a comfortable ship that will pick him in the prescribed place at the appointed hour.
